Bethany Kennedy Scanlon

Bethany Kennedy Scanlon, born March 21, 1975 in Houston, Texas, is an author/speaker who writes for the Christian genre.[1][2] She writes under the pen name Bethany K. Scanlon.

According to her book, Where's my mate?, Bethany left home at sixteen years old, becoming an entertainer in Gentlemen’s Clubs for approximately five years, in Houston, New Orleans, Ft. Walton Beach and Panama City. During that time she met and married a man in New Orleans, Louisiana. Their marriage, during which he was arrested for domestic violence, ended in divorce. During this marriage is when she decided to devote her life to Christianity. After the divorce, Bethany moved back to Houston, Texas, where she met her current husband, Lucas Scanlon. They married on July 7, 2001.

Prior to living in New Orleans, Bethany lived in Ft. Walton Beach and Destin, Florida. Bethany Scanlon attended Ft. Walton Beach High School her senior year, graduating in 1994. She also lived for two years with her father and step family in a suburb of Chicago during her middle school years.[3]

She quit her job working in a furniture store and began writing at age thirty, publishing her first book, Where's my mate? in 2006. Her first novel, Searching for Liberty, Grace and Destiny published in 2007.[4] Her second novel, Secrets of an Undercover Agent published in 2008.

Bethany has toured hosting book signings around different parts of the United States along with being featured on several radio shows.[5] Her husband, Lucas Scanlon, has two Master's Degrees (Music Performance and Business Administration) from Rice University in Houston.
